I grew up on a stage. From the age of four, performing was my world. There’s nothing I love more than witnessing a live performance unfold—the costumes, the choreography, the energy pulsing between performers and musicians. The unspoken cues. The magic. That perfect synergy between story, movement, and sound.
That’s why I’ve been obsessed with Cirque du Soleil for as long as I can remember. Every show is an immersive masterpiece—and this summer, one of their most beloved productions is coming to South Florida with a whole new look.

OVO (which means “egg” in Portuguese), the iconic Cirque du Soleil show inspired by the vibrant world of insects, is making a highly anticipated stop in our area with a completely reimagined version of the spectacle that first debuted 15 years ago. After months of creative reinvention, this new iteration features fresh acrobatic acts, newly designed costumes, original characters, revamped music, and a transformed set.
The last time I saw OVO was in 2017. I had second row seats and went with my best friend who was selected to jump in stage and ended up dressed as a ladybug spanking the characters. It was the one of the most hilarious and unforgettable memories of our friendship.

More dazzling than ever, OVO showcases the awe-inspiring talent of 53 performers and musicians, bringing to life a fantastical insect colony that will leave both kids and adults wide-eyed with wonder.
After captivating audiences in over 40 countries—spanning Europe, the Middle East, and Egypt—OVO is now landing back in North America.
You can catch the magic:
- August 14–17 at the Kaseya Center in Miami
- August 20–24 at the Amerant Bank Arena in Sunrise
Whether you’re a lifelong fan or brand new to Cirque du Soleil, this is a performance you won’t want to miss. Come see why OVO continues to enchant the world—one unforgettable show at a time.
