A Passion for Advocacy: Jill Carabotta’s Journey from Childhood Dream to Legal Leadership.

From the moment she first grasped the concept of fairness, Jill Carabotta knew she was meant to be an attorney. That clarity came early—in elementary school—when most kids were dreaming of space travel or sports stardom. For Jill, it was about advocacy.

“I loved debating—not just for the sake of arguing, but to defend a point I truly believed in,” she shares. That passion still burns bright today in her work as an attorney and co-founder of Carabotta | Steakley, PLLC.

Her love for people is at the core of what she does

With a strong background that includes serving as General Counsel at Windhaven Insurance and Vice President of Legal at United Automobile Insurance Company, Jill now focuses on defending corporations, property owners, and businesses facing legal claims. Her joy? Problem-solving. “Every case presents a unique set of challenges, and finding the right strategy is incredibly rewarding,” she says. But it’s not just the legal puzzles that drive her—it’s also the people. Building relationships, collaborating with experts, and going head-to-head with opposing counsel in a courtroom setting keeps the work dynamic and deeply engaging.

Balancing entrepreneurship with client advocacy hasn’t been without its challenges. Jill candidly shares that learning to manage the business of law—marketing, operations, and scaling—was a steep learning curve. And personally, setting boundaries between work and life was an even bigger mountain to climb. “Burnout isn’t just bad for me—it’s bad for my clients,” she says. Today, she leads with structure, prioritization, and a resilient mindset that helps her thrive in both arenas.

She is living out her dreams with integrity and heart

Outside the courtroom, Jill is a devoted wife of 23 years. She is also a proud mom to Alexandra, 20, and Nicholas, 14. When she’s not in legal mode, she can be found hitting the pickleball court, exploring culinary delights, or enjoying quality time with family and friends.

As her firm prepares to expand beyond Florida into Texas, Jill remains focused on making an impact—both in the courtroom and in the lives of those she works with. Her advice to clients and readers alike? “Document everything. The details matter—and they can make or break your case.”

Through it all, Jill hopes to be remembered not just as a skilled attorney, but as someone who used her voice to help others, mentored with heart, and modeled integrity in business and the law.
